1997

To rehabilitate an existing but deteriorated public space, a design proposal was required. The project is basically a ground design, where a square-triangle net is implanted. It is a subtle intervention that changes completly the character of the place (from a terrain vague into a garden). The net nodes are lit and serve as anchorages to furnishings as chairs, boards and lamps. The net is rather difficult to understand at first sight from the pedestrian point of view, but when experienced from the inside, it gives a sense of order. Slender trees are placed in the centres of the squares to produce a second, more visible orthogonal net. The whole ground is floored with reinforced plastic decks which are grass permeable. The whole net becomes solid and concave in the middle, to produce a shallow pond. This project was developed with German Lemus during 1997, its construction was finished in June 2002.
